Senior Staff Accountant at K&N Engineering Inc

K&N Engineering is looking for a Senior Staff Accountant to join our team!
This position will report to the Director of Financial Reporting and play a key role in the analysis of data, preparation, presentation, and explanation of the monthly financial results.
Staff Accountant Job Duties:
- Assist with preparation of consolidated internal and external financial statements by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger system and from various departments.
- Assist with validating balances in automated consolidation company by verifying data.
- Compile and analyze information by developing spreadsheet reports and validating information.
- Assists with ensuring expense exposure is accurately recorded by preparing general ledger accrual entries and maintaining records and files; reconciling accounts in a timely manner in accordance with monthly schedules
- Prepares expense analysis by accruing expenses; assigning account numbers; reconciling accounts and maintaining balance sheet reconciliations.
- Assist with the development and implementation of accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures; recommending changes.
- Creating formal Policy & Procedures for all assigned tasks if none exist.
- Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
- Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
- Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
- Special projects: COOP tracking, addbacks, fixed assets, bank reconciliations, and more as assigned
- Mentoring staff to ensure the department knowledge grows
- Ensures cross-training of tasks is developed and implemented
Requirements:
- Strong people skills – not an isolated position
- 5 to 7 years similar experience as a Staff Accountant or relevant role in accounting in a manufacturing operation environment; international experience a plus
- Experience with Big Box retail customers
- Cost Accounting exposure
- Excellent use of Microsoft Office Excel; very good with spreadsheets
- Previous experience working with D365 or other full ERP based accounting information system
- Attention to detail

- Confidentiality and integrity
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required, MBA/CPA a plus
